THE CITY SIGNS ARE DOWN!
Phoenix One has completed clean up of the damaged area and has gotten authorization from the city for the Church to use all first floor areas not damaged. We hope to have plans for re-construction and begin the re-construction process by the end of December. Engineers from the WJE engineering firm and from JQ engineering firm have confirmed the building’s safety and are currently designing the reconstruction plans.Thank you for your patience!

I am sorry it has been a while since the last update.  Things are moving very slow right now. Phoenix One has completed clean up of the damaged area.  An engineer for WJE Engineering firm has confirmed the building’s stability and is currently designing the reconstruction plans.  When the plans are completed, we will need to get city approval and hire a reconstruction contractor.  This process will more than likely take until the end of December. Another engineer with JQ engineering has examined the whole building and plans on having a report sometime this week.  Our prayer is that the downstairs classrooms will be deemed safe for use by the engineer and the City of Plano. Once that approval is given we can begin the final stages of the cleaning process and then be granted safe access to use the down stairs rooms. This process will also take until the end of December. Thank you for your patience!

I personally want to say, "THANK YOU!" to the awesome people of COLLIN CREEK CHURCH. You are showing the love, grace and patience of Christ during these days.
This week on the building, not much will appear to have changed.
However there is a lot going on.  The contractor is removing all the damaged sections of the building, clearing the way for an engineer and architect to determine the best and safest way to rebuild.  The contractor's goal is to have all the damaged sections removed by this Friday, October 15th.  He is also hoping to have some undamaged areas reopened for our use. Thus, there
may be no need for modular buildings.  Please pray!

Prayer Requests:

Safety for all workers

Leadership to have wisdom

Approval of city permits

First let me thank Mike P., he has worked over time this past week meeting with contractors, the insurance adjuster, seeking out storage pods and modular classroom space for the church and so much more.

This week we hope to select a contractor, have two storage pods delivered on the property and a fence installed around the reconstruction area.

September 26, 2010

In 1897 a journalist was sent to inquire after Mark Twain's health, thinking he was near to death; in fact it was Twain’s cousin who was very ill. Mark Twain recounted the event in the New York Journal on June 2, 1897, with these famous words, “The report of my death is an exaggeration.”
When it comes to COLLINCREEKCHURCH’s building, “The report of a total collapse and bricks flying is an exaggeration.”  Yes there is damage; the ceiling over the ActivityCenter did collapse and in the collapse a water pipe was broken, thus flooding about 50% of the downstairs.  Because of the collapse in the Activity Center ONLY, the City of Plano has closed off the ActivityCenter and the Children’s area or what is commonly referred to as the new building. (For your safety do not seek to enter the closed off areas, the city will issue you a ticket for doing so.) The old part (WorshipCenter, bathrooms, library, the offices, the tile hallway and the Crossdirection building) are all open for use.  Praise the Lord!  This all happened while no one was in the building and our insurance has said we are completely covered!  Now we begin the clean up and reconstruction.  THE LOCKS HAVE BEEN CHANGED, SO ALL KEYS SHOULD BE TURNED INTO Bethel, ASAP, new keys will be issued on an as needed basis.
Also we all owe Ken a big THANK YOU for the many hours of service and sacrifice this week.  Because of his efforts: the building was secured and we gained much information quickly, thus making the Sunday, September 26th worship service run smoothly.
